Sharing the family passion

Family owned and operated together with a small but specialised team of passionate vineyard, events, administration, accommodation and food and beverage professionals.

Passionate about their heritage, the Saturno family has infused Longview with an Italian accent. Tipping their hat to the family’s matriarch, Tarquinia “Queenie” Saturno, they produce meticulous examples of traditional Northern Italian wines and focus their food around all regions of their homeland.

Embracing the rituals of making tomato pasta sauce, curing meats and pickling vegetables, the Saturno’s are passionate about sharing their history with their customers.

  • The best route to Longview from Adelaide is laid out below.  If you are using your phone or a GPS please enter the name Bowey Road, Macclesfield. 

    • Depart the freeway at the Mount Barker exit and turn right at the lights

    • Stay on the main road crossing two sets of lights and go straight across the roundabout

    • At the second roundabout take the third exit onto Flaxley Road (by High School).

    • Follow the road for approx. 9km and turn left on to Stamps road.

    • When you reach the end of Stamps road, take a right and then immediate left.

    • Continue through the township, then take the next road on the right into Devereux Street.

    • Follow the road for approx. 1.5kms and at the top of the hill turn right into Bowey Road.

    • This dirt road leads to Longview’s accommodation.

  • It is usually, on average, 2°C cooler in Macclesfield than Adelaide, and can drop further in the cooler months, especially at night.

  • Check-in time is from 3pm - 5pm in our Cellar Door (the main building to the right of the main carpark).

    We are more than happy to discuss early check-in if discussed prior to arrival. 

    In the event where you cannot check-in prior to 5pm (when our office closes), please contact our office on (08) 8388 9694 to let us know. 

    We will send you through an email which details your suite number and further directions to check-in. 

  • Check-out time is at 10am in our Cellar Door or using the lock box directly outside the cellar door.

    We are more than happy to discuss late check-out if discussed prior to arrival.

  • Please enter through Bowey Road to access the accommodation car park.

    If you have booked our Spa Suite or one of our Vineyard Suites, you will have your own parking space directly out the front of your suite. 

    If you have booked one of our Longview Suites or our Homestead, you will be in our shared accommodation carpark (which is in front of the Longview Suites/behind the Homestead) 

    If you have booked our Lodge, the parking space is directly out the front of your accommodation.

ROOMS

  • Free Wi-Fi is in operation throughout the common areas and in each guest room. You will need to select longview-wifi from your list of networks. Please then connect to the internet via your normal web browser (i.e. internet explorer, safari, etc). You will be prompted to enter a password which is longview

    Please note that due to our location, the internet can sometimes drop out. Please inform our staff at the Cellar Door and please be patient with our staff on these occasions, we are trying our best.

  • Each accommodation suite is fitted with a split system air-conditioning unit to allow for personalised comfort in any conditions.

    For operation, please point the remote directly toward your air-conditioning unit. Please note, our air-conditioners work most effectively when set at 23 degrees celcius. Allow a minimum of 10 minutes for the unit to start working.

    To help conserve energy, please turn the unit off when leaving your accommodations for extended periods.

  • Please make sure that the power switch to the hot plate is on before turning the dial to the desired temperature. The exhaust fan is located above the hot plates. Please pull out to turn on.

  • Our sustainability packaged Body Wash is a 2 in 1 product, to also be used as Shampoo. Our tap water is purified rain water, suitable for drinking. Our toilets are flushed with bore water, which may cause some discoloration to the bowl.

    At Longview, we pride ourselves on being environmentally conscious and therefore do not turn over rooms for the length of your stay (unless you are staying for 4+ nights). However, if you do wish to book a linen change, and room clean, this can be arranged prior to your stay for a fee of $50 per room per clean & change.

  • Each suite has its own HD TV with access to all 52 channels. Using your personal account, you can access Netflix, Disney + and Prime Video via the remote. You can also access the TV Guide by selecting the Samsung TV Plus button.

    Due to our location, occasionally the TV channels may require re-tuning. Troubleshooting instructions are laid out accordingly.

  • Our Cranston and Lodge each include a private BBQ. The Homestead (Homestead Unit 1 & 2) has a gas top cooker. For suites, there is a communal BBQ area with everything you need.

  • The Longview Day Spa provides a unique wellness experience in a stunning vineyard setting, offering a variety of relaxing body and facial treatments with a focus on pampering, calming, and nourishing your body.  

    You can choose to end your treatment with award-winning Longview wine and one of our chef created platters, while sitting blissfully on the self-enclosed balcony, overlooking our Pinot Noir vineyard.

    Bookings Essential - If the Day Spa is locked and you would like a treatment for that time, please head over to Cellar Door to arrange a time.

  • Our laundry is open to all accommodation guests for use during their stay. 

    The laundry is located at the back of our Homestead (facing the accommodation carpark).

    To access the laundry, please go down the 'Pinot entrance steps' in the accommodation carpark and turn right. 

  • There is a Boccé court located in front of the BBQ area, with balls located under the BBQ bench.  

    BOCCÉ RULES
    Starting

    Divide into 2 teams, each team get 4 balls. Teams can be made up of any number of players, who take turns tossing the balls.

    A coin toss decides which team throws the Pallina (small grey ball). The Pallina must be tossed beyond the half way point of the field.

    Game

    Each team takes turns tossing their balls, aiming to get them as close to the Pallina.

    All balls (including the Pallina) MUST be tossed underarm.

    When tossing, player must not cross the foul line. All balls must stay within the boundaries.

    After all the balls have been tossed, the captains of each team determine which balls are the closest to the Pallina.

    Scoring

    If a ball from each team is within equal distance of the Pallina, no points are awarded.

    One point is awarded for each ball that is closer to the Pallina than the closest ball of the opposing team.

SAFETY & RULES

  • Smoking is not permitted within our rooms, on grassed areas or within our vineyard. Please use ashtrays as provided.

  • Whilst we love our furry friends, due to allergies and cleaning, we do not allow pets in our accommodation or any of our indoor areas. 

    Assistance dogs are allowed. Please inform Longview prior to your arrival if you have an assistance dog. 

  • We understand that sometimes accidents happen! Should you break anything please let us know immediately - if it's minor we usually won't charge. If it's a larger issue (e.g. the TV screen!) we would like to agree the cost with you before you leave to avoid any issues later. Thank you!

  • Please be aware that Longview is a working vineyard and during harvest season (February to April) our vineyard staff may be picking at all hours of the night. This will mean that at times, tractors and machinery will be used in this process, which may create some noise. We will try our best to minimise the noise near your suite, however we can’t guarantee silence.   

    Due to biosecurity hazards, please do not walk between the vineyard rows. People staying here, especially if they have come from or visited Phyloxerra zones in Victoria, have the potential to carry this pest on the footwear or their car tyres if they have been in a vineyard. This pest, if introduced, could devastate the SA wine industry and this is the reasoning behind why we ask that people don’t walk among our vines.

  • For emergency services (ambulance, police, fire) please immediately call 000. Do not delay if you feel an emergency situation has arisen. State your location as the address on the front page of this book.

    In case of a fire

    • Exit the property as quickly as possible

    • Ensure that all persons are accounted for

    • Dial 000 and ask for ‘FIRE’

    • State your location (see front page of this book)

    Do not attempt to re-enter the building until a Fire Officer states that it is safe to do so.

  • For emergency services please immediately call 000. Do not delay if you feel an emergency situation has arisen.

  • If First Aid supplies are required, a wall-mounted First Aid kit can be found in the walkway between our Housekeeping Sheds.

    The sheds are located on the opposite end to the accommodation carpark entrance, before the walkway down to the Cellar Door. 

BEFORE YOU GO

  • Please ensure you check the drawers and cupboards before you leave for any items you may have missed whilst packing. 

    Our staff will be happy to hold any items left behind for up to 3 months. After this time, we will be donating any items not collected.

    We are happy to post items back to you, if left behind. Please note that there will be a postage fee for this service. 

  • We appreciate your inbox is a pretty crowded place these days, but we're confident our emails will be worth waiting for!
