Tasting Notes
Our 2008 Yakka Shiraz is dark brick red in colour with aromas of red berries, white pepper and baking spices exhibiting flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherry. Toasty oak characters are integrated perfectly with fine balanced tannins and the finish is spicy and long. Excellent to drink now and will benefit from 8-10 years of cellaring.
Winemaking Notes
Yakka Shiraz is sourced entirely from Longview Vineyard at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. The fruit was hand-picked to minimise damage, and then fermented on skins for 7 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine was aged in old and new French Barriques.
